West Berkshire Race Series

Run West Berks is a series of four races in May, June and July.

All four events have the following in common:

  • A mix of on-road and off-road terrain
  • Beautiful scenery
  • Low entry fees

The races are of varying distance, from 5 miles (Kintbury) up to 8 miles (Hungerford).

Chieveley Chase

The Chieveley Chase is a beautiful, multi-terrain single lap race over approximately 10K, set in the undulating West Berkshire countryside.

All proceeds in aid of Chieveley Primary School PTA. The start and finish is at Chieveley Village Hall.

Distance: 10 Km

Entry Fee: £12 affiliated, £14 unaffiliated, £2 extra on the day

Children’s Race: 9:30am, £3 entry on the day

Kintbury 5

The Kintbury 5 is a 5 mile race run on quiet roads and tracks around Inkpen and Kintbury, including some private roads.

Date: Sunday 15th May 2022, 10:30am

Distance: 5 Miles

Entry Fee: £10 affiliated, £12 unaffiliated, £5 extra on the day

2 Mile Race: 10:35am start, £3 entry on the day only, over 10 years only

Fun Kids Races (on Kintbury Recreation Ground): 9:45am start, £2 entry on the day only, 1 to 9 years old

Hungerford Harey 8

The Hungerford Harey 8 is a multi-terrain, eight mile run starting and finishing at Hungerford Rugby Club. The route takes in the beautiful Port Down Common before descending gently towards Templeton/Trinity Stud. It then follows a circular route around footpaths providing stunning views of Combe and of the countryside.

The race is organised by the Hungerford Hares running club.

Distance: 8 Miles

Entry Fee: £14 affiliated, £16 unaffiliated, £18 on the day

Children’s Races and 2K Fun Run: 10:05am, £2.50 entry on the day, open to all

Inkpen Gibbet Challenge

The Gibbet Challenge is a scenic 10K race in the beautiful countryside around Inkpen, West Berkshire with the ethos of having ‘a bit of fun combined with a bit of a challenge’. The race starts and ends at Inkpen Memorial Playing Fields with a multi-terrain route which includes an energetic, though not overwhelming, climb up to Walbury Hill and Combe Gibbet to enjoy the spectacular views.

Any proceeds from the event will go to the Inkpen sports clubs with the aim of encouraging sporting activities within the village.
